I just wanted to pas along another training for those that want to learn more about working with individuals that have criminal backgrounds. There is a great workshop that Abbie Haluska actually runs called "Demystifying Criminal Backgrounds". This training has a plethora of information on laws related to crimnal background checks, record expungement, negligent hiring concerns and a short overview of the criminal justice system. This training is part of Project GAUGE which is housed at the Council on Crime and Justice. Anyone interrested in attending a training can go to the website at http://gauge.crimeandjustice.org for more information.
Do you find this valuable?
